Employee of the Month follow-up
In April 2011, Steve Goodenough was awarded Employee of the Month and all our winners of Employee of the Month receive £210 to donate to a charity of their choice. Steve decided to donate the money to the Headteacher of Cradley C of E Primary School, Marcia Harris, who was embarking on a teaching trip to Africa over the summer. Since Steve’s donation, Marcia has now returned from her trip and was kind enough to send us this letter along with the pictures below which show’s Steve’s donation being put to great use.
We’d like to say thank you to Marcia Harris for her letter and it is great to see the donations from our Employee of the Month initiative helping to make a difference.
“We used the very generous donation to buy equipment and teaching materials for the school, which greatly enhanced our visit.”
“We purchased a CD player and as the school has no electricity we also bought rechargeable batteries and a solar charger. The staff were all thrilled with this gift and enjoyed using it with the children.”
“We used some of the donation to purchase a ‘pay as you go’ modem to enable the school to send and receive emails.”
”We also took pencils, crayons, glue and scissors. The children had never used scissors or glue before and we had great fun teaching them how to use them.”
